I stopped playing JRPGs many many years ago.

They were all exclusive to consoles or handhelds at the time, and I was too poor to buy new systems and games, and they couldn't be emulated, at least not very well. By the time I could afford new things, the genre had crashed. I remember wanting to find some nice adventure to go on, but all I saw in the store was Persona 3(?) and I thought it looked like ass. I waited for a while, but there didn't seem to be anything that appealed to me coming out anymore, so I stopped looking at the genre entirely.

:itsok:

Check out Ni no Kuni 2, it's a great game that captures the charm and innocence of old JRPGs well

Does it make any sense if you haven't played NnK1?

Yeah the two are very loosely coupled
Outside of one locale having the same name nothing else is carried over
