I've bought guilty gear. The game is pretty fun.

I never really played fighting games (only a little bit of skullgirls) so I'm really at a true beginner level. It feels like there's so much to learn, it's a little bit overwhelming. Just being able to reliably execute a move that requires me to do a quarter circle forward and then press a button is hard for me.

I've always sucked at fighting games, but they're fun with friends as long as there's no turbo try hard friend who's mastered every combo in the game and basically plays 18 hours per day, every day

GG is easily the best (only good?) current fighter for sure. The learning curve can seem a bit higher than it is because this series has an answer for every situation with all the types of bursts and stuff, but that's more advanced stuff and you honestly dont need to worry about it until you get more comfortable with the game as a whole.

I've started learning Ky. 

This and Sol are great for beginners.
