makes them feel like they're super advanced technology from an age long gone.

From what I've read, that's entirely the case! IIRC, technology advanced so much that a large portion of the earth's population died and technology basically reset to 0, and they're just now back to 1990's tech.

Then suddenly mecha.
Like I said, I really like the setting :yay:

I think I also read the people on the moon remained neutral and built some utopia so they still have mechs. But like I said, haven't watched it yet so I wouldn't know for sure.

I'm not that far into it and that's pretty much what it looks like. Except, moon race characters never seem to want to talk about how things are on the moon, but from what I've seen its not much of a utopia. I have a feeling their moon colony is starting to fall apart faster than they cant fix, and that's why they want to migrate to earth. Just a guess though.

I don't know too much about mecha, but I'm currently watching Gunbuster.

Aight. Just got done watching episode 1.

So far, I'm enjoying  it, but I do feel like it's showing it's age some, and some things just feel clumsy.

Some plot moments feel like they were done to get them out of the way, and little else (Like Coach's "motivation" scene.) and the main character, so far, at least, doesn't have much character to her. Not to mention, the limited budget this show was apparently produced on really showed during the fight scene at the end of the episode.

Also, I'm not sure how "to be expected" this is, but I'm watching a rip of the BD release, and it looks awfully grainy, like the colours are fucked up a bit. If I had to guess, it seems like they didn't have a very clean print to master from, which is unfortunate.

Still, I'm willing to keep watching to see where this goes.

Also dem lewd outfits. Hnnnnnnng

Oh keep going.
You'll see where they put the budget.

Gunbuster is probably the only anime I still consider great despite the entire first half of it being completely mediocre.

G-Reco ended. Wasn't sure about the show at first but I grew to love it, more mecha shows need to have that adventurous spirit!

Have some Krim in a dress.

And now Build Fighters Try ended.

The show was bad in general with a few decent episodes here and there. Which is a shame because at the very start, it seemed very promising.

...But WOW the final episode was actually like something straight out of season 1. It was glorious :kyaa:

Minato needs his own spin-off series, an OVA, or at least a main character seat in season 3. tfw great character trapped in a bad show.

Domon has nothing to do with that statement.

I know. I should have put him below. Guy in the orange hoodie is Minato.

Domon got a cameo in this episode which is why I posted the cap.

Though technically he had several cameos already in flashbacks while covered up in shadows, and never referred to by name. He's the protagonist's martial arts instructor.

Interesting.

Zeta keeps getting better with every episode. Tomino definitely stepped up his game from 0079, he really has a feel for pacing in this one, there's never a dull moment.

May post some Kamille pics in a bit cause he's a qt.

Well, I finished Gunbuster.

I...damn, after how cheesy the first half was, I was not prepared for how melancholy that second half got.

I need to get around to Gunbuster / Diebuster at some point.  :damn:

I actually finally started watching Universal Century Gundam, with War in the Pocket. It's really good! Also that juicy 80's animation.
