I find visual novels repetitive. The first play through is pretty cool but going through other routes where roughly 80% is the same thing is torture. I know I can skip it, I just can't bring myself to do it. It feels like cheating for some reason.

@Machine
theres always nyaa for the install, but yea, effort...

this thread reminds me i really need to finish fate stay night.  I started last year and played for 32hrs straight with no breaks.  It was really good but I surprisingly have played maybe 45min total since then and I don't know why I havent continued.  Im worried at this point I might have to restart to remember everything  :sweatdrop:

I am forever waiting for subahibi :tears: we were finally getting some progress after a long time of nothing, and now it hasn't updated since June.

I wonder what will come first: subahibi TL release, me being fluent enough to understand its weird writing style, or my death

I agree with all of this, I usually just do one route most of the time   :tears:

I really love the atmosphere and setting, its set in the 1950s and has a kind of relaxing atmosphere even with the subject its on.  It does a good job of intense or creepy murder scenes.  The characters are well developed and have some deepness to them.  As for the story its pretty good so far, nothing too great but ive pretty much only gotten through 1/3rd of the game and I don't know much of anything yet.  I haven't had an H scene yet but i'm about to get one soon, ill see how that goes.  The choices are really annoying for people who don't use guides, because you have no idea how to story is going to progress by them.  And there's a fair amount of choices to the game.  My first blind playthrough I got a bad end, now im using a guide for 100% completion.

just 100%'d Rabbit Holes: the Game
The story was pretty good, at least in the beginning.  I felt that it started to lose a bit of quality as time went on.  There were a couple times I really had to try hard to suspend my disbelief.  Some of the western parts of the novel were immersion breaking bad.  There wasn't much western stuff thankfuly, but at one point near the very end of the story you meet a nun who had children with a "catholic reverend" and named one of the Celestial, which was totally out of place in the novel.  The game tried incredibly hard to have all the characters have ties with another.  At first it was okay but then got monotonous.  There was at least one plothole but it was incredibly small.  How did Mamiya Shinji know and get a hold of Mamiya Mio?  It was an unnecessary part of the novel and was just confusing.  Those things aside, the story still had its good parts and was overall enjoyable.  The visual novel side of things were done very well.  It felt like a puzzle, there were a lot of hidden CGs and scene to get, with only a small amount of hints to get them.  Porn scenes were okay, the penis anatomy was laughably bad.

the only human I genuinely love is Rosa, because she was such an amazing character in ep. 2

the witches on the other hand, I adore every single one of them. and Beato is one of my favorite fictional characters ever, especially after the end of episode 3

#teamwitch

rosa is a great character. i like a few humans.  battler can be really gay sometimes but i like his stubborn determination.  eva aka bestoba is great because she knows how to banter.  and kraus is a cool guy although retarded with money.  all the witches are gold, and that goes especially beato.

Been reading through Higurashi for the first time.
Absolutely loved it. I'm a really big fan of Ryukishi07s two layer structure thing he does
Like we all know that Onikakushi is really just a story about Keiichi losing his mind to paranoia and lashing out at people who were just trying to help him but there's another story on top of that about a village and his friends plotting to murder him that's just as great

I've been waiting for this type-moon VN to get translated (NOT fate), it's been so long I forgot its name but I bought a nendoroid of one of the characters so I MUST play the game so I don't called a filthy secondary

(I liked the design and the character was named Alice...  :laugh: )
