Mahjong isn't that hard to learn.
Minefield Mahjong is pretty easy.
Just remember, three sets and a pair. Sets are either sequences of three or triples. Unless you're going for all pairs which is a valid hand too.
Certain hands are worth more than others due to multipliers called Yaku. For example, a hand that includes one set of dragon tiles (the green, white, or red tiles), is worth one yaku.
Minefield mahjong begins with both players starting only one tile away from winning. They just discard tiles they didn't use in forming their hands until one discards the tile that the other needs.
