For me its the soundtracks that trigger that sad/happy emotion in games. If I played Dearly beloved from Kingdom Hearts in front of my younger sister she instantly gets teary eyed.
Don't remember the names but a few visual novels have left me in sappy feels for days.

I agree, the soundtrack does do a very large part of the job

In hindsight, missing out on /rog/ is a gift

how bad was it?

Endless drama, actual shitposting, trolls, elitism, etc
Only like 1 in 5 who posted in the general when I was in there actually played the game
-
Only tears of rage.

Yes
Fictional Media makes me teary pretty damn easy.
Usually about 'manly' sad stuff. Like King Theoden's talk about "muh fathers should never have to bury their sons" in lotr and that sort of stuff.
Cried a bit to a video about the Survivalist from Honest Hearts a few days ago.

ming was just too much of a sissy faggot and knew even less about the game than those tards so its only natural i mean he got bullied by literal teenagers
-
I only let cute two dimensional girls bully me you hear

Some stuff really happened in that game! It was intense
I think VNs work on a different emotional level so I don't wanna pick any, but lost lost odyssey sure made the tears thing happen! A lot of amazing writing in that game :sparkle:
