Where did this "Monogatari is pandering" meme come from? It isn't as good as it goes on, but Bake had some top tier cinematography.

What do you define as pandering these days?
WOAH LOOK GUNDAM IS PANDERING TO MECHA FANS
I think pandering is a show that makes no effort and just chucks in safe tropes that require no effort
The original Gundam did more than just sell mecha, it attempted a some what deeper portrayal of war than most anime went for.
Compare it to IBO, where they just chuck in two dimensional villians for shirtless men to fight.

I'm willing to excuse Milky Holmes because it has more to it than just cute girls.
Milky Holmes is a genuinely funny show with characters that play off each other really well and while a lot of the jokes are slapsticky, they're executed well
My favorite is when they're trapped on the island prison, and they free everyone and act like it's a big act of heroism.
But then it's revealed that they're on the island for being convicted criminals.

and sometimes shameless pandering is fun

Saw The Wind Rises
Pretty good. Wish Ghibli did more history stuff, surprised at how well it fit their style.
Although, calling it history is a little stretching considering that a lot of Jiros life was fictionalized in it, like his sister.
I like the sound affects. They sound like Miyazaki was making airplane noises into a mic.
Also Anno voices Jiro, which is unexpected.

Mana-chan bitched about how I'm not doing anything with my life so I'm binge watching anime to distract myself until I stop being upset about how he's right but I don't have any goals and dreams anymore

I've just marathoned Vividred Operation

It was really good, kind of a science-y magical girl show like Nanoha, but not as heavy on the yuri elements. In fact, I watched it because some anon on /m/ said it was /m/ in the same way Nanoha was when someone asked if it belong on the board.  :damn:

I'm going to start Overlord next, then resume Full Metal Panic! which I stopped watching after the first season (because I heard the second was more high school shenanigans than mecha focused)

Also downloaded Vampire Hunter D for my nostalgia fix, haven't seen them in many years  :sing:

vamp D does look pretty nice, I wish we got more like that

Started Overlord. 2 episodes in and I'm loving it. Finally, a skeleton gets to be the protagonist in an anime  :sad2:

Overlord was really boss. There needs to be more anime about the "monsters"

Might watch Vampire Hunter D before bed or leave it for tomorrow, I've been watching anime ever since I got home from work on Friday

Oh wait

You mean Second Raid right?

I was thinking of Fumoffu, which I've decided to skip now
