I downloaded and fired up Diablo II for the first time in a long, long while

Think I should've just gone with Oblivion for this weekend's gaming fix after all, D2 is incredibly slow to get going

In the end, I made a melee Sorceress, gave up before even getting my key skill, Enchant, because it was so painful to play, not even finishing Act 1

Then I made a Bear Druid, it was fun but then I felt like I really needed to play as an Amazon and just throw my long, robust Javelin at things

But before I could click on her at the character select screen I accidentally made a Paladin instead

Now I'm a stone cold frost nigga that's really fast

But I still haven't made it past Act 1

And I kinda still like the idea of an Amazon with a big juicy spear

A friend and I started playing Dungeon Fighter Online. It seems promising and I'm really digging it.

Against my better judgement, I bought Fallout 4 on a whim. I'm now 3 hours in.

There's a lot of bugs, which is expected from Bethesda.

Visually, it doesn't really feel "current gen", though I am far from playing on max settings, I don't have the rig for it without drops in muh frame rate. But compared to how Skyrim was in comparison to games of its time, it's much less disappointing.

For one, THERE ARE COLORS. Still not a single green plant to be found, but at least it isn't 100% browns and grays.

So far the only enemies I've run into are molerats, various bugs, Raiders, one Deathclaw (that was not a fun fight let me tell you) and feral ghouls. The ghouls are really believably vicious, which is nice. But the AI on human opponents is up and down.

As for level design, there's some verticality added. Right now I'm at an assembly plant, and I feel like a damn ninja jumping around all over the place and shanking people.

Soundtrack and sound effects are on point.

nice... i don't think fallout looks that bad. my only real gripes are fully voiced dialogue and choice wheel.


im still waiting on it though, maybe mom can get me it for christmas

I don't mind the dialogue. In fact, I might even prefer it.

This thing. I want it. But despite the wasteland being full of car wrecks and the occasional 'cycle, they're just for decoration. 






I went with a stache. It was the right thing to do.





Feral ghouls hanging out in a small wooden cabin in the woods. I shanked them. They didn't thank me.





This is the most terrifying thing I've seen in the game so far. The light wasn't on it when I first spotted it, just the glowing eyes in the dark.






There's a lot of color in the wasteland. Mostly orange and green, and the sky is always blue, even at night it just gets a bit of a darker blue, but it's nice.

The ONE thing i'll admit is that the character creator seems nicer than vanilla FO3, but that doesn't really matter when mods will do it 300% better anyway

There's something off about the lighting I think.
That screenshot with the monkey looks like something from the Source Engine.

It looks better than FO3 but i'm fairly sure mods have added Temporal AA to Bethesda games since at least Oblivion.

I dunno, Fallout 4 just doesn't look that good to me.

Looking bad is Standard procedure for Bethesda, as well as running bad.

Except Oblivion. That was pretty good at the time.

I haven't really encountered animations that looked bad enough for me to get annoyed by it.

I started this quest chain, which presumably lets you join the Brotherhood, but had to stop because I'm not smart enough to know how to hack the computer to open the door when you get into the facility.

It... just wasn't meant to be.
