Why does Japan feel the need to spoil themselves? Are they all masochists?

They're all lined up, I don't see why you couldn't just shoot them
If Amuro had his beam rifle he could have oneshot the whole trio

Ah! Japanese are unable to feel emotions like normal humans

That's why they need time to prepare a week in advance

And why all their television shows have those little boxes of celebrities reacting

So they know what they're supposed to feel and know what's funny or not (as decreed by his gloriousness, Dai Nippon Emperor King-gun)

They get together irl / online and discuss what sort of reaction to express about it

Everyone who disagrees is ostracized and bullied into silence

Me and a few friends once theorized that the Japanese were aliens, and that they don't have earthquake proof skyscrapers in Tokyo.

They have space ships.

Started Thunderbolt now that it finally finished (couldn't handle waiting months inbetween episodes)

It's really good, and it looks amazing

 :cake:

You can tell anyone with talent was put on this project and probably why IBO looked like total ass

It's funny how Thunderbolt is able to make you care more about it's characters in four episodes than IBO can do in 24

I felt really bad when the nerd was making his speech to the zeeks about how they didn't need to fight anymore, and how all of them could survive, only for his mates to use it to buy time to beamsabre them.

I'm glad Daryl got something of a happy ending. Even if he'll probably bite it at Aboa Qu.

What weirds me out is that they had IBO and Thunderbolt airing at the same time

With the whole, both have quadruple amputees piloting experimental mobile suits thing

There's even similarity between the battle damage of the Gundam pilots in the final fights

Look at this webm. It sets up Daryls backstory in five seconds, where IBO would have used a ten minute exposition dump:
https://a.pomf.cat/xbxtnf.webm

There's lots of little symbolic things in there too, like when the mums white umbrella is pulled away by the wind, and is replaced by a zakus white parachute. It visually communicates to the audience that Daryl was dragged off to war and away from his life, without needing to tell us this.

It's the little things that make a show.
