And it's going to keep happening until the left starts to realize that they can't just paint anyone who disagrees with them for any reason as bigots and fools and non-people. Because the EU is undemocratic. It can pass legislature and laws without the democratic consent of the representative voters of their client states, and that is never a good thing, even if the EU was ACTUALLY a prosperous peace-upholding utopia as people paint it.

But it's not. It drains the money and sovereignty of more well-off nations and funnels into into absolute trash fires like Greece, tries to bully nations into doing things they don't want (see: Poland), and generally does nothing good other than protect the rights of food manufacturers and vacuum wholesalers.

People will try to shout "but muh freedom of movement and trade agreements!" and shit, but that shit is less than 100 years old and isn't somehow now REQUIRED to facilitate trade or vacations. Look at Switzerland - they're just fine outside the EU.

Plus, there were definite eventual goals of starting an army only responsible to the EU itself, and eventually forming some sort of super-state, and trying to bind so many culturally distinct nations under a single federation is dumb - The only time it's worked is the USA, and even then there are constant growing pains. Imagine how bad an American Civil-War like situation would be with modern tools in Europe? Federations are bad.

There are already signs that the UK will be a preferential trading partner with the EU just like Switzerland, Germany is already having ministers talking about how they need to make the departure as fast and amicable as possible, much to the contrary of Remainer doomsaying bullshit.

Oh, like we're supposed to take market downturn on the MORNING OF THE VOTE as a sign that the UK economy will be doomed forever? The Global Stock Markets crashed by 70% when 9/11 happened, was that permanent?

I'm not saying that the referendum as it was was the best choice of action, but the EU is a fucking bumsore of an idea and no nation should be beholden to it. Better by a democratic vote than with bullets.

Except Switzerland has a shitloads of agreement to reap most of the benefit of being in the EU.
Except Switzerland still has to accept, in returns, a lots of policies from the EU.

Except when Switzerland broke the Schengen's treaty, and saw direct consequences with loss of European funding for its research institution, European research project being withdrawn from Switzerland, the Erasmus project, a very important way to promote Switzerland, kicking Switzerland out, and so on.

If you're a watchmaker or a big Switzerland corp, it indeed makes no difference for you. If you're a small business, good luck exporting to Europe, you probably won't be allowed to.

Britain left to be able to do what their people want, but will in fact still have to comply with most of EU regulations.

What's different with Switzerland is that they had enough power to influence those regulations in their favour. Now they can just endure them.

I am not here talking from a left point of view, but from an economical point of view.

Europe won't collapse and Britain just forfeited her power to influence its grown in the direction she wanted.

I'm not saying the EU has no advantages, but I PERSONALLY thing that the negatives outweigh them.

I just think most people who are crying doom and gloom over this are massively overexaggerating the good sides of the EU. Britain isn't suddenly going to be a 3rd world backwater in 20 years (Or any more than it already is  )

MAYBE some smaller countries that are now calling for referendums won't be as well off afterwards, like the Netherlands, but for the UK they'll be fine, at worst.
