Archer can pick up Rogue, which does do backstabs, and can cloak. There's also the Scout, I think it was, that also has some sneaky stuff.
Swordsman will get Shinobi when Rank 7 classes are done. Already has Pirate. You can probably get a bit thief-y with both.
Personally I'm considering either focusing on 3x Wizard > 2x Sorcerer > 1x Necromancer for summoning Shenanigans, ooor, 3x Cryomancer > 3x Elementalist, because I LOVED the whole freeze things with ice magic, then deal massive bonus damage to them with thunder, synergy from RO. And from what I can tell, it's back in ToS at least for one of the Elementalist's skills.
Another consideration is 3x Hoplite > 2x Cataphract. Mounted spear knight is olev. And Hoplite gets to deal extra damamge to larger targets, while Cataphract does the same to smaller targets.

Okay, got my first taste :heart:
It's incredibly comfy! I love the artstyle, and the music. The action isn't anything special, but it works well. What surprised me is that there's several places in town where you can take short cuts by jumping up crates and stuff, and these roads are marked on the mini-map. I rarely see MMOs actually use the jump ability in their level design.

^Poses! Yes, that does say hadouken. The 'Ming Mingu' is because it asked for a team name for your characters when I signed in. When you get asked that, just take it as giving all your characters a shared last/family name. You can change it later. I'm changing mine to something cute next time I login.
But, as with all Betas, it's plagued by lag. Very bad lag too. Dialogue will take a long time to load, and experience will take a long time to be registered, causing you to seemingly gain levels out of the blue.
Same with items, you could loot something or get a reward, but it won't show in your inventory until some time later. Applying stat and skill points also have a delay to it.
I sure hope it gets a bit better after these first few days. It's playable, but it's very annoying.

I didn't get any hats, but I got a nice sword. As in, its got 1 point higher max and minimum attack than the... the absolute cheapest sword in the NPC weapons store.

At least I got to fight the first... mini-boss? Pretty easy. I got hit by his attack once by mistake because I stayed in one place too long fighting his minions. His telegraphed fat attack did two hits of about 25 damage to me. And you get over 1000hp easily :sing:

I saw an NPC called something like, iCoin Shop Assistant, and there's a resource called iCoin listed in the inventory, below the main currency, Silver.
But I've no idea what they sell. Extremely doubtful it will be anything P2W. Plus, I'm pretty sure I had 0 iCoin starting out, yet at some point I saw I had 50 I think? So it might be possible to actually earn the real money currency. Or it might jsut be for Beta testing the shop system.

So, uh, Tree of Saviour.
Combat so far is...kinda fun, I guess. Could be pretty cool at later levels. The weak class selection and ABYSMAL character customization left a bad taste in my mouth from the start, though.
I also experienced the same lag Ming was talking about, which makes me think combat is computed clientside, which makes me wonder how well that'll work out in stuff like PVP.
Translation's pretty jank so far, some of the tutorial stuff was in Korean, and there are quite a few technical problems.
The optimization here, especially for a sprite based game, is pretty damn bad.

Ever since last night I've been looking forward to coming home from work and playing some ToS
I wanted to try a spear + shield build! Or maybe get a cleric going!
But as soon as I open the client and select server... ERROR, you have missing files, please re-download the client!
I do so, and try again. I get to make my character, start the tutorial, and... then the same error. Now I've downloaded the game again, but I'm not very hopeful.

I've never seen them have maintenance actually. Might be because I'm in Europe.
I made a new character yesterday, a Peltasta. The shield user in the early Swordsman class tree.
I... I just, man I don't even know anymore. I do more damage than I did as a Swordsman circle 2 on my Barbarian. AND I can now actually manually block with C (if I have a shield equipped), doubling my physical defense for when I just can't escape a boss's attack fast enough. And I get a defense buff, I don't use it because it diminishes attack while it's active, but it's there if I need it.
I'll be promoting into Hoplite. I actually ran into the Hoplite master in the fields and spoke to him.

I'm considering making some kind of priest as an alt. There seems to be a way to go paladin and smite things while healing your allies over time.
However given how bosses work healing seems to be useless if your party know how to dodge.

Healing is always useful, since everyone makes mistakes. Especially before you've seen everything a boss can do. And health potions don't scale. So at some point they won't be effective at all because they heal so little, so you need a Cleric because their heals heal a portion of max HP too.
Plus priests can resurrect (since I'm pretty sure every non-swordsman class is going to be getting one-shotted by high level bosses if they get hit, this will be super useful) and buff too.

It did work for me I swear. Are you sure you deleted the right files? :sad: Also here's a list of all ipf files with checksums. You can check against those to see which ipf file is broken. http://pastebin.com/FTbhV6zw I recommend this for the checksums: http://code.kliu.org/hashcheck/ Otherwise just check the filesize. If nothing else helps, guess you'll have to delete the game, delete the leftover patch files redownload .Don't forget to backup the screenshots

Only redownloading the whole game works for me. Repatching the supposedly broken files doesn't work.
Got into the chapel with my Peltasta. She did much better than my pre-barbarian, buuut I still get massacred by the first second floor boss. He's without a question the hardest thing I've ever seen in ToS so far as a Swordsman archetype.

This boss is teaching me the true meaning of despair.
I've got him figured out now, but the amount of waiting and running around involved just makes it take forever. I start getting too hasty and take risks I shouldn't be taking.

Lag remains my biggest complaint about the game. That and melee classes needs increased movement speed.
