That's entirely dependent on your facial features, hairstyle, clothing choices, and so forth

But generally...

A proper facial hair style should be not patchy but thick (never grow out your facial hair in any patchy or sparse areas if you have them, is what I'm trying to say), and on the shorter side. Those long chin beard things for example that some metal fans decide to sport, look very poor. Also NECKBEARDS NEVER.

A moustache can add a lot of character, but for most people it will just make you look like you're trying too hard, time walked from the 70s, or like a molester.

I let my beard grew last year and it wasn't thick enough to go for the big beard look. However it still looked ok as long as I kept her a relative short length (~5mm iirc). After a while I got tired of it and shaved it off at the beginning of summer.

Currently I shave maybe 2 times a week, alternating between a clean look and a 3-days-beard look. I like both.

as soon as I'm done with my job (march next year) I'll stop shaving for a month and see if I've levelled up as a man
