When a problem comes along, you must whip it
Before the cream sets out too long, you must whip it

I have real shitty general CSM list,  but my dream army is Thousand Sons.

Haven't played in forever. Last I played was in 3E.

:hmm: sort of interested but I'm not sure which to play

I've only played Dark Crusade. It was pretty cool! I remember there being a Games Workshop near my high school and one of my friends would go there to annoy the regulars by shouting waaaaagh or whatever.

@MACHINE: Thousand Sons are really cool. Easily amongst my favourite factions.

Sisters of Battle are also great.

video game wise dawn of war dark crusade is definitely the best
if you like the setting you'll probably like most of the other games, even though most of them arent good compared to the first dawn of war.

Oh, I guess there is more 40k stuff I like if we're opening it up to related media. The Eisenhorn and Ravenor trilogies are some of my favorite books, very fun reads. I think Ravenor's story is tighter and more interesting, but falls fairly flat had you not read Eisenhorn's books beforehand.

I have fond memories of Dark Crusade because necrons were the only army in an RTS I really understood well and enjoyed. No doubt I've rusted to the point where I'd have to work to get back there and... eh, work...

I have some of the models and would have liked to learn to play, but everyone in the area is cheeto covered fedora lords who take things way too seriously  :owh:

The video games are fun though, dawn of war is great

yeah cheeto covered fedora lords are the biggest drawback to traditional games

Where I used to live there was a Fedoralord with a gut so big, the roll of fat hanging out of his shirt was the size of a small man.

When playing Warhammer he sat on a chair and moved units around with a stick, because walking was such a monumental effort for him.

No face vajayjay.
No hoofs.
6/10 would maybe cautiously engage in heresy with.

Posting ITT for chaos.

Space Marine and Dawn of War were a lot of fun, and at least some of the books are decent, but I don't know anyone who plays, and the game's expensive as hell anyway.

I had a cousin who used to play vanilla Warhammer, but he's dead, so, no help there.

Chaos is the best. My wallet has sacrificed much coin for the dark gods.

But honestly I don't think the tabletop is a good game, Fantasy and 40k both. But the miniatures are great and the lore is very fun to talk about.

The tabletop looks fun. You'd have to be playing with the right people.

Plus the tabletop is only 50% of the fun of paying the tabletop. The other half of the fun comes from mocking and fucking with all the peasants who play inferior games, like games that aren't warhammer.

I mostly played high elves in warhammer. I stoped around the 6th edition I think.

I also have necron, but most of them aren't painted, and a small number of daemon (Slaanesh + Khorne).

I didn't have the will to paint all my fig and I felt the rule were shit so I stopped trying to paint and find people to play with. It was also raping my wallet hard. :tears:

However the setting is great, both for warhammer battle and 40k. I would def. play a RPG in those worlds.

Speaking of videogames, who's excited for Eternal Crusade and Space Hulk: Deathwing?

Speaking of Deathwing, who's seen this trailer with music that offends the God-Emperor and Slaanesh alike?

I was cautiously excited for EC at first but then the whole, game is years away from release thing got to me and I lost interest.

Will check it out when it drops though.

Deathwing I won't play. Also whoever chose the music for the trailer did a poor job.  :poh:

Warhammer is the CoD of the wargaming world though. You may laugh at the people who play video games, but the elder neckbears in their man caves will be laughing at you.

1.Why not?

2.In my experience, people who play other tabletop games like Crossfire and...Crossfire are quaint history nerds who want to feel like they're really a general or something. Generally pretty separate from sneering neckbeards that inhabit videogames and more "escapist" tabletop games.

This is some high level heresy.

Also neckbears.

Been two months since I ordered.

We could try and organize it online. I feel we'd be way more successful than that thread on /m/.

At the moment I only have my Unicorn and that one fast gundam from 00
Both my Stikes were damaged when moving.
I plan on getting another one when I visit Australia in April, so I'd be down to try this.

Oh

Oh God

Adeptus Mechanicus is finally getting a 40k army. For many years it was my neckbeard wet dream. And now it's coming true.

 :wow:
