onani master kurosawa is a legitimately amazing coming of age story, the way he tied the bathroom stall scenes and turned it into symbolism about the doors kurosawa and kitahara put between themselves and other people preventing relationships to form was fantastic. also I love how it completely subverted the ending everyone was expecting him getting together with kitahara, instead they leave her to move on with her life on her own terms as he gets with the very bully he hated so much earlier I also thought kurosawa's inner monologues about the classroom was a spot on depiction of the shallow, self absorbed ways people boost their images (even if they are unaware of it) in real schools.
tl;dr it's really excellent, and it's funny because years ago when I just read the first volume I wrote it off as mediocre trash.
