Thank you guys! It took a lot of saving up and living frugally (I didn't even buy any fumos for the last few years!)
And now the giga inflated utility costs will have me keep living as if I was still saving up, lmao 

How much was the deposit?

41k USD, looking at the current exchange rate
10 years ago, that would have been the price in full, so yeah the market has gone completely nuts here too
But on the upside, if things don't turn around, and I doubt they will, I'll get my money back if I sell in a few years (assuming WW3 doesn't start, haha...)

You just have to go live in the middle of nowhere where there's no jobs 
I was super tempted to do that now that work from home is possible but I was too scared that the industry might change / forest trolls might eat me

As for taiko I live in south Sweden, now in a 2000+ sized town so unlikely
BUT, I do work in one of the biggest cities we have, just don't go there much anymore due to said work from home situation, so I might be able to track down a machine actually, good thinkin'

Super cool, but I got sick at the start of the term and so now I'm thinking I'll give it a go again next year maybe
I tried two-handed and one-handed with a buckler (tiny ass, pot lid type of shield)

What's up gamers?

I'm still at the same shitty company. My team has seen 2 project managers quit since the last post.

 I'm still trying to figure out a balance between work, doing fun things (that are fun) and making my dreams not die. Unless I'm really sick/stressed/busy, I've gotten pretty good about putting time toward my little projects.

There was a period where progress on my game stalled for like 5 months because of an issue with switching PCs and DLL bindings. It got to the point where a guy who had published games in the Godot engine from the discord was saying that the problems I was seeing made no sense.

I just gave up and rewrote the codebase in GDScript.


Please invite me to the API mansion. It beats house prices in Alberta.

Work / fun balance is rough. I still can't manage it. I'm one of those people who will stress about work stuff well past actually being done with work for the day. Overtime also isn't helpful 

Good to see you making some game dev progress, I'm hoping to get back into that hobby, very very soon.
I'll try to make a post about what I'm planning on doing this week, there's a few game dev nerds here after all so would be nice to get some input
