>My drive with my Touhou art collection, and other things like my /f/lash archive, died today
Yeah, lost like 10.000+ touhou works I'd saved in fits of autism looking through Danbooru and Pixiv almost daily. No I don't have a problem (/ω\)
Yet, the art is still there on the net. I could just go browsing again if there's something I wanna see but... there's no such convenient thing as a "view only high quality art work" feature!
My Flash archive was pretty friggin' huge as well because I've had it for years, but there's stuff like swfchan of course so honestly it's kind of pointless to even have a folder if you aren't into reposting.
Also had countless other artwork or picture folders of course, including one for old 4chan/net culture stuff, like OS-tans. That's one of the few things I'm actually rustled about losing.
It also had my entire documentary collection on it, though I'm pretty sure the stuff that was really good can be found on YouTube these days. So much was either garbage or almost carbon copies of one another.
A lot of the music I listened to in my teens that I didn't lose in a previous drive failure was on it too. Kinda funny, I actually backed some of it just a few days ago. (like, old ass Sailor Moon mp3s from the days of like Kazaa, BearShare, and other p2p networks) Because I wanted to use it as inspirational material for a project I wanna do.
ah, also all my project files from Uni, but I thought most of it was so shit it'd never be looked at or played ever again. Almost happy it's gone
its like when skyrim finally breaks under your mods
then you start modding again and its better than before
pretty much
Still, if I can get the thing to come alive for a little while, there's some stuff I wouldn't mind rescuing, mostly things of a nostalgic nature
