Paradoxes and weird properties of consciousness abound.

Why can't I be aware of my entire being? We only have partial introspection.

Why does Nature present itself to my senses in two contradictory ways? If I believe my immediate perceptions, there is color. If I try to make sense of my perceptions, I work out a theory of Nature according to which there is no color or sound but only a vast mass of floating particles.

The path for information needs to stop somewhere. You can see of all of your being through external devices such as x-ray or CT, but you won't be able to be aware of all of it the same way as when you pass your hand over a rough surface. To be felt, something has to do the feeling, and that something can't feel itself.

The perceptions you have are a result of that mass of floating particles doing information processing at a level or scope above that of individual particles. More is different, and color and sounds exist in those higher levels.
