How samrt are you?

For those of us who've taken IQ tests, what did you get on it?
I had to take one during school.
I got an IQ of 114, which puts me at slightly above the average  :yay:

For the record, as I understand it, IQ tests aren't for gauging intelligence, per se, but for retardation.

IQ is correlated with intelligence, it tests your ability to quickly and effectively abstract as well as form mental images in your head. It doesn't really matter much in terms of non-retardation though because you should always strive to think the best you can.

Intelligence, to me, always seemed like too nebulous a concept to gauge. If you asked me, people vary so much in the skills they have, the degree to which they apply them, the way they think, and learned skills that it's almost impossible to round "intelligence" to a single number.

I don't put much value in IQ tests, because I don't think you can judge the whole of someone's intelligence just on that. To some degree they can be useful, else we wouldn't use them at all, but there are some really smart people with a low IQ, and some really dumb people with a higher IQ.

Regardless I'd like to try taking one again sometime, last I took it was in 10th grade. I feel like it's probably changed since then.

I took an IQ test a few days ago an got a 131....

I don't know how. it was mostly geometry and number problems.
