It's pretty easy once you get the hang of it.
Personally I have a hard time trying to enjoy drawing without being able to look at my hand as I draw. It feels very uncomfortable.

I can have fun using a mouse though, but at the same time I have no expectations of doing well with it + if I use paint it's even easier to let go and just do silly things because everyone's standards for things done in paint are very low.
Maybe I should just start using my tablet for everything like normal web surf and stuff. Get used to it that way. Actually, that's what I'll do! Then I can git gud while watching YouTube and maybe I could find some easy to play game that can be played with just point and click controls too.

/r/drawing has some good resources. I'm not good but I'm a lot better than when I started drawing again 2 months ago. Drawing a little bit each day leads to improvement even if you're bad, I think. :sing:

Finding some guides and learning basic techniques is a great place to start. Also a literal shit ton of practice. I've been drawing since I was a child. It takes a lot of work.
Also some advice I gave Ming on improving in another thread:
Find art that you like and totally steal it. This goes for any medium. So like, for examle, say I watch an anime or something and I really like the art style, I'll find an image of my favorite character and freehand a copy of it, by doing so you get a feeling for how the artist kind of did it. Then I usually draw in that sort of style for a bit with different things, maybe drawing that character in different positions and other characters, and then I take everything I like from that and incorporate that into my style. I don't even know if I'm answering your question anymore. Uh, just look everywhere for that stuff that inspires you and find that thing that makes you go "God damn I suck, I wish I was that good" and then copy the fuck out of them and eventually start making it your own. That's how I go about improving, anyway.
2 specific anime related examples I can think of that really did this for me was Akira and Serial Experiments Lain.
Though you probably want to learn basics such as using frames to plot out what you're doing and stuff.

All this talk of drawing! I haven't drawn at all this summer and I'm super rusty so I did a quick sketch on a note pad. I was going for a 70s anime sort of feel. Honestly I'm not satisfied with the hair and general proportions, I think maybe the head should be taller, BUT it's good enough for a quick sketch and was enough to get me back into the swing of things.
Expect more sketches to come, maybe.

Not really drawing but...
I decided to color one of those gundam line arts with MS paint
I think it turned out pretty well, gave it a bit of a retro feel with the high contrast shadows

I never realized how much better (in my subjective opinion of course) the 00 looks with color on his legs instead of just 100% white. Now I just need to get the MG kit, paints, an airbrush and make it into reality （●ω●）
