That reminds me of a hilarious story I heard in my history lecture. The English in Pennsylvania were negotiating a land purchase with some the Lenape tribe. The tribe stated that they could have as much land as they were capable of walking to within a day. This was estimated to be 40 miles.
You know what the English did? They hired professional runners, and got an extra 30 miles of land. Fucking Indians, trusting English people :laugh:

Yeah I tried to learning how to draw properly back on api 1.0 and made 'Ming's Drawing Thread'
But I stopped updating it pretty quickly after making some shitty doodles of penises and basic geometry (I have a .rar with it all uploaded on here SOMEWHERE)
And people kept giving me attitude about how I should get back to it
One of the first threads on this site is also Ming's Drawing Thread too!

I think the problem I'm having is that I'm being too hard on myself, and get upset that I'm not meeting my own expectations quickly enough.
So instead of taking it slow and having more fun with it, I just drop it all.
I'm like this with everything ever. Just look at api 3.0
I'll come back to it over and over too, because I refuse to just "lose" to my own expectations and dreams. But after a few days of effort it just happens all over again.

But I'm less turned off by the over simplified art these days. Guess there's just so much you either deal or stop watching new shows
Something that does not change though is that the art from Persona 3/4 I see posted makes me physically ill

Oh, and by simplification I mean
Less and less facial features are drawn or suggested
No shading
Animation itself also has less frames / characters are as immovable as possible so they don't need to animate a lot
Far less stuff moving in the background too

I prefer nowadays's art-style.
I feel that, by trying to add more details, they mostly ended up with muddled-looking panels. Also the char used to have such a big mouth when talking, I find it stupid.
But to each their own I guess.
Also, color wise, I think nowadays's show are much more better, the old ones feel washed out.
Kami Sama, you get to marry Mirai, but one random api member dies. Which do you pick?
