None of the shit with the conspiracy or the angels was important, it was the characters that mattered.
It wrapped up the character arcs in a very satisfying way. Although, I didn't like how Shinji just 'stopped' being depressed.
It would take years to get over the mental and physical trauma he went through. Simply telling him 'congratulations' isn't going to cut it.
My other confession is that I unironically enjoyed Aldnoahs second season. I know it's shitty, but I couldn't help but enjoy it for some reason.
I even liked the ending
