They took a sample back in early October and it wasn't a bacteria then, so they concluded it was a virus and just told me to wait it out.
Just got back to the clinic and, well, I got to see a nurse (who said I was mostly fine now, swollen but no sign of infection anymore which is good, thought it was pretty bad when I went to get my appointment, a week ago...), but apparently all the clinic's doctors were booked for the next few weeks since I needed to see one about the lump and ask about what to do about the whole recurring problem thing.
Public health care system in a shitty economy, ladies and gentlemen.
Anyway, she did feel the sides of the neck which I guess is to check the lymph nodes. And there's nothing unusual there. My lump thing is somewhere behind the adams apple though. Nurse told me to call as soon as the infection comes back next time though and they'll get a sample again.
If the lump persists after the swelling goes down this time though I'll head to the emergency clinic instead. I'm guessing it's a boil according to what I've read, you can get them by a small chance when you get throat infections. But they need to be cut open and drained to go away.
