Nice Plein! Bleaching it again might do it as well if you want it really light

I've had almost that orange before, only with orange dye, bleached that when I got bored of it and it turned almost white  :omg:

Also I'm just back from having been at IBM. It went GREAT.

It's only the first/second part of their recruitment process though.

I'm going to bleach my hair and no one is at home to stop me.

Frosted tips or nothing  :sparkle:

>Ming basically bypassed getting an education

Teach me your secrets!

Be lucky that there's a bigger demand than there are actually skilled people to fill those positions!
-snip-

But...That's IMPOSSIBLE! :omg:

Benefit of living in a failing country, I guess.

Maybe Canada will be there soon.

 :yay: but also  :poh:

Did another part of the IBM recruitment process, the IPAT web test, apparently infamous for being quite difficult. It... was, but also not. There were two parts of the test, each 18 questions @ 2 minutes each. First was number series, then there was "word problems" or simply just, normal maths problems you might see in a high school maths book.

Number series I think I did pretty well for like half of it, then it went south to where I couldn't even guess at what the answer was.

At first it's stuff like, find the next in the series of;
2, 6, 14, 30, 62, ??

Then I got something like 6, -40, -35, -60, 5, 5, 0, 2, ?? by the end which makes no sense to me. Not exactly one of the questions I got, I don't recall it 100%, but almost like that. Just no rhyme or reason to it.

The maths problems were straight out of high school. Kind of makes sense since all employee potentials do this regardless of position. Unfortunately, they were timed (2 minutes each), and I haven't touched high school maths since... well high school.

Either I didn't remember exactly how to solve a question and wasted a lot of time trying to recall things, or time ran out just before I could finish the solution. One question the time actually ran out just as I had selected my answer and was moving the mouse to hit submit.

I think I did enough as a developer applicant, if I'd tried say for an economics position, I know my application would hit the dustbin right about now.

Still, fucking maths man. Not even difficult stuff. I'm disappointed in myself, because I used to know this so well. It's like forgetting how to ride a bike in my eyes.

I did a teat like that one and it had nothing to do with the job. All the maths in retail jobs already done via the computer but they wanted everyone to work out how many hours everyone worked in three weeks and other word equations that serve no purpose.

Best of luck Mingo.

So basically, they made you do a bunch of pointless nonsense?

Rip, but if you got that far without a degree and 5 years experience, you're miles ahead of how things generally go in Canada/The US.

Best of luck, Ming!

Speaking of pointless bullshit, I'm done with my spring classes, and am finally free to have no idea what to do with myself!

Also also:

>Go in to see a campus counselor about stress/not being able to focus/feeling burnt out (thinking I might be depressed/bipolar)

>Come out with a positive screening for ADD and anxiety

oof.  :owo:

>without a degree and 5 years experience

I've technically done web design and development since 2006-2007 there about, that's a decade of experience even if it's just as an on and off hobby

Degrees are a not hard requirements as a code monkey, regardless of what the ads say. A huge chunk of the industry is self taught.
