I only merch and physical media if I really like them. If I would've paid for all the music I've hoarded, I'd be bankrupt.

Well sometimes I think like that and it's easy to not pay for anything when one is legitimately poor or has a very small amount of spending money. I have seen some webcomics simply halt production because the author couldn't devote enough time to it and they were not making enough money off of the effort or side commissions they were doing. Sad to see that happen to a comic that was truly nice to look at; that's part of the reason I send some money to select comics. I would happily do more and pay for music directly if I had the funds for artists that I want to keep on producing great music. I think I even bought some merch from Daft Punk once, simply because I had listened to nearly all of their music without paying for it. Sure they're a successful example but people should consider doing more of that kind of stuff, when they can, to lesser known artists.

 :hihi:
Hmm, I wrote up a list a while ago for a Post Office thread let me try and find it...

https://www.valsalia.com/feed -- Out of Placers
Fantasy comic with some dude turned into a different fantasy race that makes for some intrigue. It has its moments.

http://powernapcomic.com/rss.xml
Futuristic/sci fi setting where people take a pill instead of sleeping but some people are allergic to it.

https://well-of-souls.com/outsider/rss.xml -- Outsider
Futuristic setting with space ships. Humans are trying to decide which part of an inter-galactic war to take part in, focuses on one guy's point of view in as diplomat with blue space elves.

https://themonsterunderthebed.net/?feed=rss2
Some kid meets a friend from the world under people's bed.

http://sssscomic.com/ssss-feed.xml Stand Still Stay Silent
Breifly goes from present day to a hundred or so years into the future. Humans get infected with a contagious disease/virus that turns them into dangerous trolls. Sets society back a lot and it reemerges with magic and little understanding of the technology left behind. Follows the adventures of a group going into uncharted terratory to bring back books of the past. It has a really comfy art style.

https://killsixbilliondemons.com/feed
Some dude gets kidnapped by something from the multiverse and his girlfriend goes to try and rescue him. Adventures, cool art and evil pants ensue.

http://www.paranatural.net/comic/rss
Some kid can see the spirit world in the new town he moves to and is recruited by a school club of similar people. Reminiscent of that one cartoon called ... I actually couldn't remember the name but basically this girl can see the spirit world and it's inspired from Latino culture. Great faces.

http://www.blastwave-comic.com/rss/blastwave.xml
Post apocalyptic somewhat random adventures of 2 soldiers from team red. This comic currently appears to be discontinued but I still hold up hope. Most of the newer updates are april fool's jokes.

https://www.prequeladventure.com/feed/
Follow the agonizingly slow adventures of a cat with the worst luck thrown at her. Set in some version of Skyrim (or was it Oblivion?). Follows the same sort of "submit command" format as homestuck but without the baggage of being homestuck. Note that the author at one point went on a 2 year hiatus to make one of the updates a flash game so don't feel that you need to catch up to the ending, we'll be waiting.

http://helvetica.jnwiedle.com/feed/
Some sort of drama about a skeleton. I've forgotten what it is about as I haven't read this comic in about 2 years and it has not updated in a long time.

http://feeds.feedburner.com/tidal/miamaska
A girl is transported through the multiverse (or was it thorugh time?) to a place where those types of people are feared for some reason. The comic author has stopped making comics for now because they were unable to make ends meet just doing that and currently has to focus on life.

http://twogag.com/comic/rss Two Guys and Guy
~741 random comics of Guy and her roommates.

---

Let's see if there's more I didn't mention then:

https://www.oglaf.com/
18+ comics that started with a plot but the author found that they worked better as stand alone random gag comics. Some of them are funny, others are not. Probably not worth sitting and reading them in one go.

https://www.avasdemon.com/
Some girl is possessed by a demon with in a futuristic space empire ruled by Titan. Has some really nice art and audio/visiual integration too. I lost track of a the plot and stopped reading a few years ago but the art carries it on its own for quite a long ways. It might be better to wait for artists like this to draw chapters and read them all in one go so you don't lose track of what's going on.

http://www.casualvillain.com/Unsounded/comic+index/
Unsounded is an interesting one. The story at first seems good but then it drags on. At least for me it didn't seem to be worth continuing reading after a certain point. An interesting magic system as they go though.

https://darthsanddroids.net/episodes/0001.html
This is an interesting one. The concept is that in this alternate universe Star Wars does not exist and these are the scenes from a role playing group's custom DND sessions. I've shown this to other people and they don't like that the people don't draw the comic, but doing the writing, arranging panels and finding the correct frames to grab for each one has got to be at least more work than those 3D rendered comics :shudder:
Anyways I would not recommend reading this past a certain point. You can decide where that point is for yourself but for me it was partway into their rendition of The Force Awakens. Yeah, it ran that long.

http://wondermark.com/
This one's style is also different. The author takes old wood cuttings and makes comics out of them. They are mostly one off comics but some stories are a couple of pages long. I didn't last long reading this one, got to about comic 500 iirc while also reading the new ones as they came out. It's really old, been going since 2003, so that doesn't help with catching up to the newest ones.

https://mspfa.com/log/?s=43
This style was inspired by homestuck obviously but I think it stands in its own right. Follow the adventures of a Concerned Citizen as she goes to the water company to complain about her shower spewing black sludge. Interdimensional scuba divers, random powers, levels and more ensue. Currently at ~2200 panels so take that for what its worth.

https://mspfa.com/log/?s=3039
Called Lucidstuck, an interesting adventure as some guy is trapped in his dream. Like any webcomic, enjoy it until you don't. Has some fun world and character building.

There were a few other ones on mspfa that I can't remember but still enjoyed when I read them. If you liked the previous two ones I would suggest looking on there for other good ones. They do exist but can be hard to find. I can't really recommend Homestuck. I have read the entire thing but it really wasn't worth it. Certainly the first ... 1,000 panels (I think?) were fun but after that it just changed tone too much. Anyways the Problem Sleuth the same author did was a good one.

So that's most of the webcomics I have read. Many of them I don't check that often or have stopped reading. I try not to pick up new ones since they eat up lots of time to read through them.

...this is one tall post :yay:

That is a big list! I have read some of those, gone with the blastwave, oglaf and unsounded. I used to read a looot of web comics too, but as manga became increasingly available the enjoyment of reading one page a week or so wasn't really doing it for me anymore.  :heh:

I actually thought about unsounded a few days ago and wanted to catch up on it but just could not remember the name so you have my thanks there  :yay:

I was never really big on music for the longest of times but I decided awhile back I wanted to get a decent pair of headphones instead of years of shitty "gaming headsets" like the plebbie I was.  Just recently I've randomly been getting into classical music and it's like a whole genre I never took any time to listen to.

Things like Pianos sound so much better than I had ever previously heard it's amazing what moving to headphones do.  A whole new level of appreciation for music now.

I'm always surprised that people usually consider classical music to be "granda" music. While it may not have quite as much of an appeal today, there's plenty of depth there in not only the classic classical pieces by Bach, Motzart and Tchaikovsky as some examples but more contemporary pieces released even to this day. Much of the contemporary classical pieces might be disguised as film scores but they can still be great to listen to. I haven't really sat down and listened to classical for quite a few years myself, maybe I'll do that soon.

To be honest I almost like never noticed movie soundtracks at all or really a lot of music in general.  I've been like pretty entertained just recently with listening to anything now as I dip my toes into anything.  Before I would maybe have music on in the background but it was just kinda in the background without me focusing much on it. But now I would just put music on to listen to it.  Once this lockdown stuff is all over I want to attend an event by the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra to hear it first hand.

It's got me into all sorts of different genres. My youngest sister has been all hyped throwing all these different types of music genres at me.  But now I do wish I could learn something was thinking of picking up like a E drum kit or whatever its called so I can plug some headphones and play without disturbing anyone else.

Getting an electronic instrument is actually a good idea, always wanted to learn to play instruments but I've always lived in poorly sound proofed apartments  :heh:

I had an old yamaha synth when I was a kid that I got from some relatives that I "played" for a while now that I think back, because you could turn down the volume or use headphones with it. Wonder if I still have it somewhere.  :relax:

Well.. I ended up getting the second cheapest E Drum kit I could. Still was $900 NZD but its funky as hell.

Its normally in the middle of my garage but when my mate comes around I gotta push it into the corner to make more space. So it would be a bit more spaced out when I'm playing it.  My sister's partner has been coming around giving me lessons and homework to improve and it's been so cool to play.  Also, my old dead headphones randomly worked on the drum kit but won't work when plugged into my amp/pc/phone etc.

Music is fun.
