When I was walking for fun as a student, I often walked across the graveyard past midnight
I'd be lying if I said I didn't get a bit jumpy when walking through it. Not so much because of the thought of the dead rising from their graves, but it was probably the only place in the city that was so damn dark and secluded due to the lack of light, lots of trees, and sheer size. Oh and stone walls running around the whole thing.
If you were hit by muggers or worse, screaming for help would do you no good.
Thankfully the only midnight hassle I ever ran into was this weird, drunk old man who was just... standing still. In the middle of the main walkway. It was pretty scary because I first thought it was some thug looking to do somebody harm and before I got close all I saw was a black silhouette.
Well, he asked me for cigarettes when I walked by, I told him off and that was it. What he was doing drunk and loitering in the middle of a graveyard, at night, on a weekday even, I don't know.
