Title: 2016
Post by: McJongJing on March 26, 2015, 06:42:00 PM
Does anyone else find it strange to think that next year will be TWO THOUSAND AND SIXTEEN?!?!?!
We're living in the goddamn future.

Video games don't even look that good.
At least VR is coming along nicely.

We actually have flying cars.

But they're pretty much just tiny planes with 4 wheels

Flying cars are too dangerous anyway.
I would be too scared to drive one anywhere.

How and where do they land?

The ones I've seen work like a Harrier plane. Meaning they lift straight up vertically with no need for a runway.

I really hope we manage to extend our lifespan greatly before I die. My biggest fear is to die before we manage to do it. The worst would be to die a few year before it becomes available to the public. I'd be mad forever.

More on the subject the fact that my younger sister is entering high school this year makes me feel very old. The fact than the other one finishes high school this year makes me feel like that too.

Fuck, my mom is going to die eventually.  :owo:

Imo the best outcome would be to be the last humans alive to witness the end of the modern world.

Instrumentality soon.

I just want to make it to the robo economy.
Robots doing everything. Neet paradise.

Really, not only is this type of scenario not really feasible, it'd probably cause an economic crisis, and subsequently be outlawed.

Nuh uh.
It'll be rough for a decade or so with rampant unemployment.
But it'll all be fine once we get robots making and maintaining robots.

Edit: I really fucked up that qoute

I really hope we manage to extend our lifespan greatly before I die.

I think the most realistic "great increase" in lifespan our generation may get is synthetic grown organs that are readily available, for "cheap". Organ failure is pretty much what death is all about.

If we had enough organs for transplant to go around, everyone could in theory just replace everything before it even gets "old" (assuming they can pay for it all, hehe). Of course you can't just replace the brain so... assuming optimal nutrition, proper rest, exercise, and so on, maybe we can get to live almost twice as long as previous generations?

There's currently lot of research about the brain and things like Alzheimer's disease. We probably won't see lots of results during our lifetime but one can hope.

I wonder how far the aesthetics part of medicine will go...

Maybe they'll be able to turn you into a really beautifull girl or man in the near futur. Would princessii genderbend themselve if it turns them into gorgerous girl ?

If I could decide my own appearance, I would probably go full robot but use a doll exterior.

Probably, but that's a big commitment, which frightens me a bit.

My primary objective in life would be frightening kids by spending years as "that one creepy doll in grandmas house she doesn't remember how she got"

Then in the middle of the night I will come alive and go stand over the sleeping grand kids.

As they slowly come to, see me and panic, I will slowly crawl onto the bed, get face to face with them. From where my mouth should have been, a few words make their escape.

Ey kid wanna /ss/

I don't think I'd discard my body entirely until it was failing, but I would get neural computer interface, replace any failed organs, and maybe get some cool AR shit for my glasses.

There's already some primitive but really cool body mod stuff going on underground in certain parts of the US that are taking the first steps toward cyborgs. It's still too shifty for me to even consider but it's a promising movement towards the future.

i want to become a disembodied consciousness that just floats around the world and observes things but i guess putting my brain in an rc helicopter would be close enough

If it's a full body replacement, I'd be all for it. Surgery can only go so far.

I don't think I could handle being placed in the body of a girl. I'd get a bad case of Gender dysmorphia.
If they could give me a cute girl brain to go with my body though, that would be just swell.

I would at least once like to but put in a girl body, do lewd things until it got weird, then ask to be taken out again.
