Hey Ming, are you having framerate issues with Phantasm Break? Mine is sludging along and I should be able to run it fine. I read it may be a bug for some computers they're trying to fix so I was wondering if you had anything.

Last day, final battle damage report:

Age of Empires II: HD Edition
Anno 1404 Gold
Armored Hunter GUNHOUND EX
Banished
BioShock Franchise Pack
Crimzon Clover WORLD IGNITION
Dishonored
Fallout: New Vegas
Gigantic Army
Hatoful Boyfriend
Hyperdimension Neptunia; Rebirth II Sisters Generation
Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds
Shadowrun: Dragonfall - Director's Cut
Shantae: Risky's Revenge - Director's Cut

Only game I've played so far is Crimzon Clover, which is a lot of fun despite me sucking at it. Pick it up if you love Shmups, it's real cheap. And it's real crazy, in a good way. If I remember correctly as it's been a while since I heard about the game, it was made by a Japanese pro player in his free time, if that's a pro or con to ya.

See you again in winter

:ok:

Yeah Hiro and I (mostly I) got totally owneded by the AI.

AoE2 is mostly a macro game though - just refine base building and teching while having adequate defenses and scouting is like most of the game. No uber l337 micro involved in this so it's all just keeping up with economy/army.

If we could get the AoE2 stuff rolling we could totally help each other get better at it, and perhaps other RTS in the future!

God I hope we actually do things this time  :sad2:

I already have AoE2 and I'm totally down. I grew up playing AoE games with my dad so it has a special place in my heart!  :kyaa:

ys games
trails
rebirth 2
lisa
gta5
100% OJ
and dark horizon

good games. interesting is dark horizon, EA game that I'm on the fence about refunding. very much like mechwarrior but the lack of content (despite hardworking devs and constant updates) and small community still makes me wish I hadn't spent $10 on it.

last time I buy anything early access.  :gloom:

Why would you ever buy early access?
I bought Ys Origin a while ago.
I never finished for some reason, but I really enjoyed it.

Post by: simondaman on June 27, 2015, 04:14:18 AM
i just wanted to play some mech games on PC and it was very tempting.  :kyaa:

I finished ys orgins a few days ago. its pretty short and once you finish the story you unlock the mage character and you can go through story as him. hes kind of shit tho.  :yay:

I tried playing the next games, ys 1+2 and the gameplay is drastically different. not really enjoyable at all so I'm thinking about just skipping those.

tfw no Armored Core for PC ever.

I think I'll go back and finish Origins this week actually.
How's the final boss?
Title: Re: Steam Summer Sale
Post by: simondaman on June 27, 2015, 04:32:41 AM
armored core is dead. i didn't want to believe it but when i saw dark souls 3 get announced before armored core 6 that was it. goodbye thinker rip AC nice knowing ya

final boss was pretty good, took me a couple of tries. make sure you have all your equipment upgraded before fighting him. i made the mistake of missing a couple of gems along the way and had to backtrack with a guide.

also nightmare mode is ridiculous. i wanted to go for all the achievements but i can't beat the first boss.

Going off topic, but why do people talk shit about Verdict Day?
It's my first AC and I'm really enjoying it. But everyone says it's the worst in the series.
Title: Re: Steam Summer Sale
Post by: simondaman on June 27, 2015, 05:24:18 AM
armored core has been through a number of changes in terms of gameplay and because of that it has a very split up community. some want to see it go back to its roots(PS1/2 era), others want to see it return to AC4/FA style, and others don't really care

to be more specific, its gameplay has a very weight-y feel to it and its more MP focused than any game in the series. theres also no choices or routes in story mode which sucks.

personally VD is one of my favorites. I also think its one of the better MP games out there.

Ah, I see now.
Yeah the AC can feel very 'technicy' to control at times.
I really like how much variety there is to the AC building.
Sadly I don't actually have Xbox Live, and I'm not paying Microsoft for that shit.

I beat Ys 1 but  stopped playing Ys 2 couple hours or so in.

I'll come back to it one of these days.  :damn:
