Jotaro is boring because he doesn't develop much in his own story.
At least Joseph had his relationship with Ceaser.
That was good because they had an arc.
At first they hate each other, then they go through some tough times and bond together, and then they're mates.

Jotaro doesn't really bond with the other crusaders, or argue with them.
He just punches things and looks cool.

Great character design though.

Anime

Finally got caught up yesterday. They made good use of cgi to make D'Arby's dolls creepy.

Also, at first, I thought Iggy was just a little shit, but them giving him a voice and the whole Iggy vs Petshop episode made really like him.

Manga

I'm really liking Part 4. Koichi is a Dragon Ball Z and yandere stand user is the scariest thing.

Games

Anyone else super hype for Eyes of Heaven? I think it looks rad.

Free moving large arena brawler type game. Very fitting for the series, I think.

Young Joseph is best JoJo.

Jotaro is boring because he doesn't develop much in his own story.
Jotaro doesn't really bond with the other crusaders, or argue with them.

But he's cool!

Also he does develop, he opens up to the group a lot over their journey and goes from what seems like a punk kid who trusts no one to being good friends with Kakyoin. It's all subtle but that's just his personality. A lot of stuff that seems subtle also seems like big steps for him.

Young Joseph is the most entertaining JoJo, but Johnny is my favorite.
Araki was really on the steel ball in part 7

I feel similarly towards Iggy.
I just thought of him as a mutt before Petshop, but I really liked him after we got to see how he thought.

Maybe I'm just autistic, but I'm really not seeing much development.

Have you watched the anime yet? There's just lots of little things like him smiling or laughing with the group or when Kakyoin returns him and Jotoro specifically shake hands. I just notice lots of little instances where he kind of breaks out of his cold cool exterior for a moment. It's not much but I think it's way more fitting for him than if he just started hyuckin' it up with Polnareff or something. We don't know much about his youth but they make it seem like he was a punk who didn't have any real friends and got into fights just for fun but now we're seeing him understand what it's like to actually have friends and to work with people and his (very slow) adjustment to that.

I'm watching Stardust. It hasn't finished, so there might be some development at the end that we haven't gotten to yet.
We see lots of little things, but never any major changes.
But then again, the anime's been going since mid 2014, so perhaps I just forgot any changes from the start.

If anything, in part 4 he seems a lot wiser.

Yeah I really liked how Araki handled him in 4
Seeing him bond with Josuke over rat hunting was great.

I'm not that far in but it sounds nice. I really like his white "marine biologist uniform".

ALSO, one major thing my friend and I were trying to figure out.

So, end of part 1, Erina survives and escapes on the trunk Dio brought.

Beginning of part 3, Dio is awakened from the bottom of the ocean, in his trunk...

The happened?!

There's a crayzay spinoff novel starring George Joestar the IInd that explains it.

OH! Didn't know if explained it. I'll have to check it out. Is it the one that's just called Jorge Joestar?

Yeah, I that's the one.
The alternate explanation is that 'Araki just didn't give a shit'

That novel is insane and I'd rather not consider it canon. From what I've read on it, it's much simpler that way... Apparently the manga actually mentioned there being a secret compartment(I believe that's what the book suggests as well) which makes perfect sense since Dio is always prepared and Wang Chung probably wanted a compartment.

I gotta wonder how Erina didn't notice him crawling in though.

Well being quiet is his thing. Also assuming it happened pretty quickly, she just watched her husband die and went through a massive steam engine explosion, she was probably pretty shaken.

How many women do you think Dio's slept with?

I'm guessing at least 100
Title: Re: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
Post by: Ollistar on April 29, 2015, 11:24:26 PM
I'd say that's super low considering that's roughly a girl a year and almost every time we see him with women there are like 5 there.

Only 1 in 5 are deemed worthy of Dios schlong.

This is true. And only 1 in 100 are worthy of his seed.

though I somehow find it hard to believe he only had one kid

New episode was rad! And it looks like it'll be the first 3 parter.

That's
3 EPISODES OF VIDEO GAMES!!!!!XDD

Younger D'arby episodes feels so vivid and exciting, at the first episode of his when the Joestars and Kakyoin landed on the island I feel so immersed that I can feel those sands on my naked feet.

The race car match was really full of thrill, I might go crazy and try that Kakyoin's spinning thing. (I'll deeply miss this videogames' episodes)

I will also throw my unpopular opinion, I actually liked Jotaro from the begining of the Stardust Crusaders, he's that kind of cool MC that throw fist first before talk, and straight on all the kind thing he does. Granted, I still feel Young Joseph objectively more likable because of his trickery and unique gimmicks. :sparkle:

Is it unpopular to like Jotaro though? He's so cool and unobtainable.

Also the video game announcer was easily the best part of these episodes.

Edit: I just realised you were referring to the manga.
I've read parts 7, 4, and am about to start on 5.
However I've only been watching the anime for part 3.

It totally is. Like, right now it's "uncertain" and "up to Warner" but it's fucking JoJo no way they won't fund more. Basically what that means is "go buy the blueray please so we can make more!" This is the same thing they said about SC and it got 2 seasons.

Also that last episode. DP did great, I cried several times. 9/10 needs more "WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU JUST SAY ABOUT MY HAIR?!"

Also the preview at the end of the part 2 anime for SC wasn't a thing until the blueray releases so if it is planned they may be waiting to do that. Also I saw an article a while back saying the some people from DP and Araki were spotted on site doing research in the town Morioh is based on.

Okay we're all good.
If there's a chance for part IV then maybe we'll get Steel Ball Run in 2020!
