Have you honestly gone without talking to someone other than your family for more than say a year?
I have zero friends in real life, and my online relations are just API.
I barely ever say anything to my brother other than hi, and anything I say to my dad is either good morning, thanks for the food, or a comment about the weather. Sometimes he'll start bitching about the government and how they should let him leech more on society but it's not really a conversation and I just try to find and opening to leave without seeming rude.
At work I just act nice but I don't really socialize. I could, if it was people my age. But there's a huge generational gap.
Only once in my 3 years of being a NEET did I actually make a friend, but it only lasted some 3 months.
Before API, I didn't even have any "e-friends". And the only people I would really speak to were government people from the employment office.
I can thrive socially in various situations, but I haven't been in one of those since college.
