I'm not sure if I'd call it horror, but Etrian Odyssey is pretty scary.
Getting trapped by FOEs in the labyrinth with no supplies is the definition of scary.

I played both Amnesia. It was scary.

However after a while you may begin to understand how the game and the monsters work and then it's not so much scary anymore.

I played Dead Space. The fact that monster can sneak behind you without you noticing make you feel tense all the time.

It wasn't scary. But sometime I would turn around and find that a monster was right besides me. This and the scarcity of ammo made me stay on my toes. But yeah it doesn't compare to Amnesia.

I found System Shock 2 scary for the same reason I found EO scary.
You're constantly worried about your inventory, since it's so limited.
Often I'd be wandering around with only a few shots left, and I'd have to make careful decisions about running from enemies or using up the last of my ammo and hoping I'd find more.

That and the sound design is great.
I'll tear out your spine...

I liked penumbra better than amnesia. will never forget the scene where you have to give the doctor the saw, was too much for me.  :sad2: that said I can't wait for soma.

Interesting. I'm not sure I've ever seen a good alien abduction survival game.

i think its being split up into two games

one as the prologue that deals with abduction and the second as an alien invasion

this and soma i'm most excited for
